North Penn High School Theatre begins its 51st season by celebrating the 70th anniversary of “the greatest movie musical of all time”, Singin’ in the Rain. Performances will be held live in the NPHS auditorium April 27 at 1 pm for gold card holders only, April 28-30 at 7:30 pm, and May 1 at 2 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. The performances will also be streamed live on April 30 at 7:30 pm, and that performance will be streamed on May 13 and 14 at 7:30 pm and May 15 at 3 pm. Tickets to the streamed shows are $25 for an unlimited number of patrons. Please note that fees apply to all ticket sales.

Singin’ in the Rain was first released as a movie musical on April 11, 1952. Hysterically funny, endlessly entertaining, and hopelessly romantic, Singin’ in the Rain is a wonderful way to introduce young people to the joy of musical theatre. Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue, and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin’ in the Rain the perfect entertainment for any fan of the golden age of movie musicals.

NPHS Theatre is funded in part by the North Penn School District, but ticket sales cover sets, costumes, lights, sound rentals, and other technical and staffing expenses for the show. Patrons have the option to add a donation to their ticket purchase and support approximately 100 theatre students involved in this production while securing the future of theatre education at North Penn High School.
